We are working to confirm the details of the new programme, and updates will be available here, however our current plan is as follows:
- Monday 7th December and Tuesday 8th December: Aligned Workshops
- Tuesday 8th December (evening): Welcome Reception
- Wednesday 9th December: Plenary Sessions & QuakeCoRE Dinner
- Thursday 10th December: Plenary Sessions & Meeting Close at 3:30 PM

What should I do about my registration?
We will be in touch with you next week; you will receive an email that will allow you to reconfirm your attendance at the Annual Meeting and to confirm your interest in attending the aligned workshops.
I am no longer able to attend some / all of the Annual Meeting given the new dates; what should I do?
You will receive an email next week that will allow you to change or cancel your registration for the Annual Meeting and aligned workshops.
I want to cancel my registration, what should I do?
You will receive an email next week that will allow you to change or cancel your registration for the Annual Meeting and aligned workshops.
My colleague really wanted to come, but wasn-™t able to attend in September, can they come to the meeting now?
Once everyone that is currently registered for the Annual Meeting has had the opportunity to confirm their attendance for the December meeting, we will send out a message to our wider community to enable them to submit an Expression of Interest to be included in the wait list for the Annual Meeting and aligned workshops, subject to availability.
Can I give my registration to someone else?
No, for health and safety reasons, it is essential that we have an accurate record of everyone that will be attending the Annual Meeting. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration. Anyone that is not currently registered for the Annual Meeting will have the opportunity to submit an Expression of Interest to attend shortly.
Can I attend a workshop?
You will receive an email next week that will allow you to change or cancel your registration for the Annual Meeting and aligned workshops. Once we have been able to confirm the details of the workshops, we will confirm places in each of the sessions.
How do I purchase/cancel a partner ticket for the welcome/dinner?
You will receive an email next week that will allow you to change or cancel your registration for the Annual Meeting and aligned workshops. This email will also allow you to make changes to any partner tickets for the welcome reception and QuakeCoRE Dinner.
Posters
Can I submit a poster?
No, the poster abstract portal is closed and will not reopen. All posters that were confirmed for the September meeting will automatically be included in the December meeting.
Can I change my poster title?
No, the posters have been finalised and there will not be an opportunity to edit or update poster titles or abstracts.
Travel
How do I change my travel?
To make changes to your travel arrangements, you should contact the person that made your original booking.
Do I need to change my hotel booking?
Yes, the hotel will automatically cancel all bookings made under the old QuakeCoRE Group Booking. Please rebook your accommodation using the new QuakeCoRE booking code: #582950.
What if the change fees and new travel costs are more than my travel grant?
If the cost of amending your travel will exceed the amount of your travel grant, please contact quakecore@canterbury.ac.nz.
I am no longer able to attend the Annual Meeting, will you still cover my cancellation fees?
If you are no longer able to attend the Annual Meeting, and have incurred travel costs, please contact quakecore@canterbury.ac.nz.

Will the Women in QuakeCoRE Event still take place; will I be able to attend?
Yes, the Women in QuakeCoRE Event will still take place, we will be in touch nearer the time with details on how to reconfirm your participation at this event.
Will you still be offering the wellness activities (yoga and boot camp)?
Yes, the wellness sessions (yoga and boot camp) will still take place, we will be in touch nearer the time with details on how to reconfirm your participation at this event.
Will you postpone the meeting in December?
No, unfortunately, if circumstances prevent us from holding the meeting in December we would not further delay the Annual Meeting, but instead look to move the meeting online.
Can I attend the Annual Meeting via Zoom?
At this time we are not looking to livestream the event via Zoom or a similar online platform. We hope to record the sessions and will endeavour to make them available online after the event.
Will you still be offering childcare support for the Annual Meeting in December?
Yes, we will still provide support to assist with the costs associated with childcare during the Annual Meeting. Please contact quakecore@canterbury.ac.nz if you have any questions about support for childcare.
What if the COVID-19 Alert Levels are not at Level 1 in December?
Unfortunately, if circumstances, such as government regulations around COVID-19, prevent us from holding the meeting in December we would not further delay the Annual Meeting, but instead look to move the meeting online.
I don-™t feel comfortable committing to attending large gatherings; will not attending the Annual Meeting impact my funding?
No, we are aware that the current situation around COVID-19 can impact people in different ways and our priority is always the health, safety and well being of our community. We appreciate that everyone has different circumstances and your non-attendance at the 2020 Annual Meeting will in no way impact your QuakeCoRE funding.
