Rebid Workshop: Repairable buildings to serve resilient communities
May 3, 2019We are pleased to announce CIGIDEN (Chile) has joined QuakeCoRE as an Affiliate Organisation.
CIGIDEN (Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management) is a multidisciplinary research centre which brings together researchers from four universities in Chile around six different research themes.
CIGIDEN-’s mission is to develop a multidisciplinary approach to the study of natural hazards and the associated emergency response to allow a holistic focus on disaster risk reduction and building resilience. Through contributions to public policy and technology transfer, CIGIDEN is able to ensure that their research has a positive impact on Chile-’s resilience in the face of natural disasters.
One of CIGIDEN-’s core research areas is Risk and Resilience in complex systems and networks, within this area, the study of earthquake resilience is of key importance, given Chile-’s significant seismic risk.
Ken Elwood is the key contact at QuakeCoRE for our collaboration with CIGIDEN.
QuakeCoRE affiliate organisation status is available to international research centres and institutions that have a significant ongoing collaborative research relationship with QuakeCoRE
