NCREE joins QuakeCoRE as an Affiliate Organisation

The National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE, Taiwan) has joined QuakeCoRE as an Affiliate Organisation. NCREE links researchers and practicing professionals to build interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise using a variety of computational and experimental facilities in earthquake-related fields. NCREE’s status as a QuakeCoRE Affiliate Organisation recognises the strong ongoing collaboration between QuakeCoRE and NCREE particularly in the field of reinforced concrete structures.

QuakeCoRE and NCREE are currently collaborating on the seismic assessment and retrofit of earthquake-vulnerable concrete buildings through large scale shake table testing at their new facility in Tainan.  Tests, designed to assess the linear and nonlinear torsional response of existing concrete buildings, are planned for mid-2019.
