September 13, 2018We are pleased to announce Natural Hazards Center (USA) has joined QuakeCoRE as an Affiliate Organisation.
Natural Hazards Center is an academic center, with more than 40 years history, dedicated to linking researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to reduce the harm from disasters based in the Colorado, USA. They share and advance social science and interdisciplinary knowledge, with a special emphasis on the most vulnerable populations and places. Working to empower a culture where all people are educated and inspired to take positive action to mitigate hazards losses and to build stronger communities.
The Center is funded by the National Science Foundation, Division of Civil, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Innovation (CMMI), Program on Humans, Disasters, and the Built Environment with supplemental support from the U.S. Geological Survey, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Integrated Drought Information System of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
David Johnston is the key contact at QuakeCoRE for our collaboration with NHC.
QuakeCoRE affiliate organisation status is available to international research centres and institutions that have a significant ongoing collaborative research relationship with QuakeCoRE
