February 3, 2020Te Hiranga Rū QuakeCoRE is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for new and emerging researchers. Grants will be available for early-career researchers to support the development of contestable external research proposals targeting specific funding programmes. Proposal Development Grants Summary
Scope: | Grants are available for early-career researchers toward research-related costs for the development of contestable external research proposals targeting specific contestable funding programmes. The aim of the grant is to provide seed funding to enable miscellaneous data collection, analysis and proposal team building for the purpose of preparing strong proposals in competitive Aotearoa New Zealand public funding rounds. Proposal development grants can be requested for up to $10,000.

Funding Available: | Proposal Development Grants will be awarded for between $5,000 and $10,000. |
Project Timeline: | Projects will start on the 1 March, 2020
Projects must be completed by 30 September, 2020 (there will be no opportunity to extend these projects) |
Who Can Apply: | Project Leaders should be an early-career researcher; this means researchers that have been awarded their PhD within the last 6 years (extensions to this timeframe will be considered for career interruptions due to parental leave or similar, as consistent with the Marsden Fast-Start definitions). |
Application Process: | Complete the Project Proposal Form (Available Here) and return it together with the standard (5 page) MBIE CV for the Project Leader. |
Application Deadline: | Applications (Project Proposal Form & MBIE CV) should be emailed to [email protected] by Friday 14 February, 2020 at 5PM. |
