Congratulations to Sjoerd van Ballegooy and Virginie Lacrosse,  of Tonkin and Taylor, Auckland. Sjoerd won the Freysinnet Supreme Technical Award, and Virginie was a runner-up in the Young Engineer of the Year Award - both were acknowledged for their ground-breaking work on liquefaction related to the 2010-2011 Canterbury Earthquakes.

Congratulations to Brendon Bradley, on being awarded the 2017 Prime Minister’s MacDiarmid Emerging Scientist Prize. This Prize is for an outstanding emerging scientist who has had their PhD conferred within the past eight years. The award comes with $200k support.
